Wedding and Special Event Coverage

Imagine you’re planning your dream destination wedding where the venue is a breathtaking beach in the Caribbean. All your plans are falling into place and you’re only a few days out when weather reports predict a category four hurricane is supposed to make landfall. What are you supposed to do? How will you get reimbursed for the money you’ve put into planning your wedding? The right event coverage ensures you have peace of mind on your special day.

Weddings are investments with the average cost of a wedding being $30,000, close to the cost of a car. You wouldn’t drive your car without insurance, right?

What Does Wedding Insurance Cover?

Depending on the type of coverage you choose, your wedding insurance can provide protection for the following situations:

Dress Damage or Loss

If your wedding dress is damaged or lost, or the bridal gown store goes out of business, you may be reimbursed for the costs of a wedding gown or tuxedo.

Lost Deposits

If the location you’ve chosen goes out of business or declares bankruptcy before your big day, you can be reimbursed for your deposit.

Lost Jewelry

If jewelry gets lost or damaged you may receive replacement costs.

Inclement Weather

If severe weather causes you to postpone your big day, you could be reimbursed for certain non-recoverable expenses.

Illness

If your wedding needs to be postponed due to the bride or groom’s sudden illness, you may be reimbursed for certain non-recoverable expenses.

Call to Duty

If the bride or groom are called to active duty or have a service leave revoked causing you to postpone your wedding, you can be reimbursed for certain expenses.

Damaged Photos

If photos are damaged or ruined, your event insurance can cover costs to retake photos.

Damaged Gifts

Repair or replacement of damaged gifts could be covered under your insurance.

You can also add additional venue liability and liquor liability to protect yourself for accident and injury claims against you or damage to the venue.

Other Special Event Coverage

Maybe you aren’t planning a wedding anytime soon, but have another big type of special event coming up. You can also purchase special event coverage which provides a lot of the same protections that wedding coverage does.
